Name of the Society then was “Karthedom St. Joseph Maranavasya Sahaya Sanghom”. In the year 1953 the name of the Society was altered as “Karthedom Maranavasya Paraspara Sahaya Sangham”. From a humble beginning, the society has made very good progress. The head office is located at Karthedom, a small village in Ernakaulam district and 2 of its branches are located at Vallarpadam and Murikkumpadam. On 31-10-2003, Society was renamed as “Karthedom Rural Co-operative Society.”
